Amy Scarpello was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and currently resides in the Northside neighborhood. She attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati (AAC), earning a BFA in Sculpture, in 2010. During her time at AAC she participated in an exchange semester attending the Maryland Institute College of Art. In 2010, she was awarded the Steven H. Wilder Traveling Scholarship, which allowed her to travel throughout Europe to continue her studies.
Amy is an active member of the Cincinnati art community. She currently co-owns Pull Club Studio, a girl powered design and print studio. In 2015, Abby Cornelius and Amy were awarded a People's Liberty Project Grant for PLOP! which Amy still manages as an ongoing project. Past projects include co-running Live(In) Gallery and working as a curatorial member of the Important People reading series. She has shown work at the Dayton Institute of Art, Semantics Gallery, and the Rosenberg Gallery in Baltimore. Amy is passionate about public art, merry making, and engaging young, emerging and student artists. |
